Insurance & Reimbursement for QT Breast Scans

How Does Payment Work?
Patients pay Quantum Breast Imaging directly for their QT Breast Scan. At this time, insurance coverage for QT Breast Imaging has not been confirmed. However, you may be able to request reimbursement from your insurance provider, depending on your plan.

What Is a Superbill?
Quantum Breast Imaging provides a superbill, an itemized document you can submit to your insurance company to request possible reimbursement for your scan. Receiving a superbill does not guarantee that your insurance company will pay your claim.

How Can I Request Reimbursement?
Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask whether your plan covers QT Breast Imaging or offers out-of-network reimbursement. You can ask whether CPT code 1079T, effective October 1, 2026, is eligible for reimbursement under your plan and what documentation is required. Once you receive your superbill from us, follow your insurer's instructions for submitting your claim.

What If My Claim Is Denied?
If your insurance company denies your claim, ask for the reason in writing and whether you can appeal. You may need to submit additional documentation or have the claim reviewed more than once. In some cases, it can take multiple submissions or appeals to obtain reimbursement, but payment is never guaranteed.

Do I Need a Physician's Order?
No. Quantum Breast Imaging does not require a physician's order to schedule your QT Breast Scan. However, your insurance company may have separate requirements for reimbursement.

Have questions? Contact Quantum Breast Imaging to learn more about our payment process or how to request your superbill.

Please note: Patients are responsible for payment to Quantum Breast Imaging. Insurance coverage and reimbursement are determined by your insurance provider and individual plan.
